Yes. We are approximately a 10-minute walk along the seafront.

Is parking easy near The Duck?

There is plenty of parking to the front of the building which is only £1 after 6pm. Free street parking is also available at the rear of the restaurant

Is there disabled access?

Our restaurant is over two floors. Our main dining area is downstairs, and we have ramps available for the front door. The restrooms, however, are upstairs which can be accessed via the lift.

Are dogs allowed in the restaurant?

Yes, small, clean and well-behaved dogs are welcome however only on 2 of our tables so please let our staff know when you book a table.

Are children welcome?

We welcome well behaved children and have a small children’s menu available for them. We only have 2 highchairs available so please make the staff aware if you need one at the time of booking.

Bookings

How long do I have my table for?

The table is booked for the whole of the breakfast, lunch or dinner unless otherwise stated at the time of your booking. (Breakfast tables we do require back at 11.30)

Why do you need a deposit on some of your bookings?

Being a small restaurant, we really suffer financially when parties do not turn up for their bookings as it means the table is left empty. It is also unfair on all the other customers who we have had to turn away during the week, who would have liked to dine on that table at that time.

Do I need to book?

Being a small and busy restaurant, we often get fully booked. Although we can usually accommodate walk-ins, we always advise people to book, (especially for Fridays and Saturdays), to avoid disappointment.

Our Food

Do you serve afternoon teas/afternoon snacks?

We no longer do afternoon teas/afternoon snacks in order to focus on our breakfast, lunch and dinner service. People are welcome to come in for a coffee/tea/drink in the mornings and afternoon.

Special Requests

Can I bring my own cake?

We would prefer people not to eat their own food in our restaurant, however, if you are desperate to bring your own celebratory cake as a dessert, please let us know in advance. We will add a small ‘cakeage’ charge for each person on the table who has the cake rather than a restaurant pudding.

Will I get thrown out for asking for ketchup?

No. We are not that precious! We keep ketchup, mayo and mustard.

Can you accommodate larger parties or private dining?

Our downstairs area can hold up to 28 people and is often used for private parties. Please see functions section for details.

Do you cater to people with special diets?

We want people on specific diets to feel included and welcome which is why we like to talk to our customer about how we can alter some dishes to make them gluten, dairy free, vegetarian or vegan. If there is a certain ingredient in one of our dishes that you cannot eat, you are more than welcome to ask for it to come without and we will try are best to accommodate all requests.

Payments & Giftcards

Do you do gift cards?

We sure do, why not treat someone to a meal, we can top-up a gift card with any amount. Either give us a call on 01983 613925 or pop into the restaurant to purchase.

Do you take AMEX?

No, but we do accept all other major credit cards.

Do you charge for service?

We do not add a service charge. Any tip you wish to leave goes entirely to the staff.
